High-rate lithium-ion batteries, with their strong discharge capabilities, are gradually replacing traditional nickel-cadmium batteries as the industry mainstream. These batteries mostly adopt the ternary lithium or lithium iron phosphate systems. Among them, ternary lithium-ion batteries can achieve a discharge rate of over 20C, instantly releasing high currents to meet the needs of high-speed operation and heavy-duty work of electric tools. Lithium iron phosphate batteries, on the other hand, have advantages in long-term high-frequency usage scenarios, balancing power performance and service life.

The working environment of power tools is complex, often accompanied by vibration, shock, and temperature fluctuations. Therefore, the battery needs to have a robust structural design and excellent environmental adaptability. High-rate lithium-ion batteries typically adopt cylindrical cell combinations, with high-strength metal materials for the casing and a comprehensive BMS system inside to monitor the cell status in real time and prevent issues such as over-discharge, over-temperature, and over-current. Taking an electric drill as an example, equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a 20C discharge rate, it can easily drive the drill bit to penetrate hard wood and metal. A single charge can complete a large number of tasks, greatly improving work efficiency.

The performance of the accompanying charger directly impacts the user experience of electric tools. Chargers for high-rate lithium-ion batteries must possess fast charging capabilities and support equalizing charging functions to ensure consistency in multi-cell battery assemblies. Some high-end chargers also feature battery repair functions, which can activate aged cells and extend battery life. Furthermore, battery accessories such as battery packs and connecting harnesses are continuously being upgraded, utilizing high-temperature and wear-resistant materials to enhance overall reliability. As electric tools evolve towards cordless, lightweight, and high-power designs, high-rate lithium-ion batteries and their accompanying charging accessories will continue to iterate, driving industry advancement and providing stronger power support for industrial production and home renovation.
